A staged reading of the winning plays selected from entries to the Garrick 300 Playwriting Competition.
Following a nationwide competition for new short plays, two will be selected to be rehearsed and presented in a staged reading.
David Garrick (19 February 1717 – 20 January 1779) was an English actor, playwright, theatre manager and producer who influenced nearly all aspects of theatrical practice throughout the 18th century. He was a true innovator and risk taker. As part of the 2017 Garrick 300 celebrations we hope this new playwriting competition will be a launch pad to inspire the next generation of David Garricks.
Closing date for entries is 7 April 2017.
