Sir Tony Robinson is most famous for playing the role of Baldrick in Blackadder but he made his first professional appearance at the age of thirteen in the original stage version of Oliver! In between he was bullied by Steve Marriott, failed to impress Liza Minnelli and was pushed into a stinking London dock by John Wayne. He entertained us with Maid Marion and Her Merry Men and coped manfully when locked naked outside a theatre in Lincoln during the live tour of comedy series Who Dares Wins. He has made numerous factual series, including presenting Time Team for twenty years, The Worst Jobs In History and Tony Robinson’s Time Walks. He is a multi award-winning children’s television writer and author and he joins the Festival in conversation to regale us with tales of his illustrious career which has spanned over 50 years.
