The Red Balloon & The White Mane

We are delighted to welcome back the wonderful City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra after a five-year absence with their new music director Andris Nelsons at the helm. From Ravel’s heady vision of a society in decay through to Debussy’s surging orchestral seascape via Mahler’s heart-rending gift to his wife, this final concert should not be missed.

Stephen Hough, widely regarded as one of the most important and distinctive pianists of his generation, will bring Tchaikovsky’s stirring Piano Concerto No.2 to life.

“Damn! No chance of catching a snooze at CBSO concerts… Nelsons is a volcano of overt emotion… He’s a man who radiates a passion for performance, and that’s infectious… The CBSO sounded like a band bewitched” The Times

Moishe's Bagel

ImageA band of Scotland’s finest musicians conjure up an intoxicating, life-affirming mix of Eastern European dance music, Middle Eastern rhythms, and jazz-inflected Klezmer.  Last year Moishe’s Bagel was given a prestigious editors’ award by the official newspaper of the Edinburgh Festival.

"Exhilarating, full-flavoured stuff, often breath-takingly intricate but played with jubilation...the Bagel acquires the momentum of an express train"
