This year at the Lichfield Festival we are proud to be championing a new strand to our programme which actively promotes the well-being of our audiences and residents of Lichfield.

Everyday during the Lichfield Festival 2019 at 10am we will host our Wellness Hour with varied activities and events aimed at contributing to the well-being of those who attend and 50% of the Wellness Hour events are completely FREE to participants!

The Wellness Hour events include:

Pilates with Angela Chaudhry

For the first of our 2019 Wellness hours, we invite you to join our introduction to Pilates, led by qualified instructor, Angela Chaudhry. Pilates aims to strengthen the body in an even way. With particular emphasis on “core” strength to improve general fitness and wellbeing, it was developed by German-born Joseph Pilates, who believed mental and physical health were closely connected.


Relax Kids™ with Donja Martin

Donja Martin is one of the leading experts in child relaxation training, classes and resources offering quality services to help children become resilient and give them tools and techniques to manage their emotional, and mental health.


Kabantu: Relaxed Performance

An acoustic hour in the company of world music group, Kabantu, perfect for anyone who would benefit from music in a relaxed setting, including those with an autism spectrum condition or learning disability.


Death Cafe

At a Death Cafe, people (often strangers) gather to eat cake, drink tea, and discuss the big and broad subject that is death. Since 2011, over 8150 Death Cafes have taken place in 65 countries across the world.

Artists Antonia Beck and Lucy Nicholls (from The Death Show) invite you to join this festival Death Cafe, and take part in a open discussion group about death with no agenda, objectives or themes.


Mindfulness, Well-being and Chocolate

Mindfulness, Well-being and Chocolate: our second Just Relax™ event at this year’s Festival is once again led by Donja Martin and takes us on a 7-step mindfulness journey to relaxation and well-being. This event will include chocolate…!


Singing for well-being with Paul Smith (Voces8)
