Few, if any, contemporary composers have so successfully or consistently explored the potential of opera and the human voice to communicate, create wonder and to enrich people’s lives. Celebrating his 60th birthday year, our 2019 featured composer, Jonathan Dove, joins Dr Kate Romano to talk about his prolific career and commitment to community development through innovative musical projects. A festival co-commission, his new work, a setting of George Herbert’s Vertue, can be heard in our VOCES8 concert this evening (Event 11G).
