It is with much sadness that we have taken the decision to postpone our literature festival. Given current conditions and advice, we want to ensure that all our audiences, authors, volunteers and staff remain as healthy as possible and we feel it is our duty and responsibility to protect others by not proceeding with our events at this time.

We are currently investigating options for rescheduling events and ask that you bear with us in the meantime whilst we talk with different venues and authors. We are also in talks with our box office - run externally - and appreciate your patience whilst we finalise information for those who have purchased tickets for events due to take place at the end of March. We will keep you informed as soon as we have further information.

Thank you all for your continued support - as a charity we rely so much on income from our audiences and sponsors to keep running and hope that, however uncertain the future is at present, we can continue to bring high-quality, inspiring multi-arts experiences to the Midlands.

London Midland sponsors Lichfield Festival for fourth year running

London Midland is returning as sponsor for this year’s Lichfield Festival.

The Festival is one of the foremost multi-arts events in the UK and is an important calendar date for the West Midlands region. Staged over a week, the Festival hosts world-class music, art and entertainment from a variety of backgrounds in venues across the city.

Lichfield is an important location in the London Midland network, providing passengers with rail connections to the West Midlands, London and the North West.

Commenting on the train company’s continued sponsorship of the Festival, London Midland’s managing director, Patrick Verwer, said:

“The Lichfield Festival is an extremely important event for us and one we are proud to be sponsoring for a further year. Our first sponsorship came at a time when we were making major changes to improve performance. We also realised at this time that just giving a good train service was not enough. Modern, successful businesses must also get closer to the communities they serve.

“By getting more involved in our communities through initiatives like the arts we have been able to listen more effectively and build trust. This in turn has allowed us to focus our work on improving and creating the things that matter to our customers.”

“Becoming better connected with the communities you serve makes good business sense – and for London Midland the Lichfield Festival has been a perfect fit.”

Jennifer Mears, executive director of Lichfield Festival, added:

“We are extremely pleased that London Midland has chosen to support us again this year and look forward to developing our plans further with them as we move closer towards the 2017 Lichfield Festival. It is always a pleasure to work with the London Midland team and over the past four years we have seen many mutual benefits grow from the partnership.”

Passengers looking to travel to the Festival can use London Midland services stopping at two stations, Lichfield City and Lichfield Trent Valley.
